ACTIVITIES & SIGHTSEEING IN CALGARY:

Ladies Breakfast:  Why not start the Saturday Morning of the Convention with an opportunity to win a $500 Shopping Spree?  A Ladies Breakfast is being held at The Bay in downtown Calgary starting at 7:30am.  Entertainment will be included.

  • Stephen Avenue Walk:  enjoy the stores, cafes, and sights along the walking mall that is right beside the Hyatt

  • Calgary Tower:  see a higher view of downtown Calgary from the top of the tower or have a scenic lunch in the rotating restaurant

  • Glenbow Museum:  walk one block from the Hyatt to the Glenbow and travel back in time to learn about the geological formation of the Rocky Mountains and Canadian prairies, the first inhabitants of the area, and early settlers of the Calgary area.

  • Devonian Gardens:  a four block walk from the Hyatt hotel to these quiet indoor gardens and Koi ponds

  • Calgary Science Centre:  use the free downtown LRT service to visit the Science Centre

In 2004 the Calgary Zoo benefited from major enhancements to build Destination Africa, a world-class habitat for the gorillas, giraffes, and hippos.  The Zoo is a 10 minute ride toward Whitehorn on the LRT train using the passes supplied in the All-Events Registration.

ACTIVITIES & SIGHTSEEING NEAR CALGARY:

Drive 1.5 hours west of Calgary and you are in the middle of the Rocky Mountains.  Walk the main street of Banff, ride the gondola to the mountaintop, soak in the Banff Hot Springs, or pose beside the magnificent Lake Louise - stop for a few minutes for stay for a few days.

Drive two hours from Calgary to Drumheller to the Alberta Badlands to visit a dinosaur museum that highlights the dinosaur discoveries and research in the area.

This UNESCO Heritage Site is one of the world's oldest and best preserved buffalo jumps.  This Heritage site is a two hour drive south from Calgary on Highway 2 near Fort Macleod.
