TRANSPORTATION:
If you have questions regarding local transportation, please contact Bill Sparksman: baribrit@shaw.ca
FLYING TO CALGARY: Calgary International Airport is a major airport with direct connections to various locations in the Pacific Northwest via several major airlines. If you are considering flying, one option you may want to consider is driving to Abbotsford or Vancouver, BC and flying with the discount airline Westjet or via the other Canadian airline Air Canada.
DRIVING TO CALGARY: Driving to Calgary would give you an opportunity to experience the scenery of central British Columbia and the grandeur of the Rocky Mountains. The northern route from Vancouver follows Highway 1, takes the shortcut along the Coquihala Highway #5, past the lakes near Salmon Arm & Kelowna, and through the mountain town of Golden, Lake Louise, and Banff.
The southern route through Spokane and north through Idaho gives you the option at Cranbrook to head north through Radium and Banff or east along Highway 3 through the Crowsnest Pass and north at Fort Macleod where you can stop to see a Buffalo Jump before heading to Calgary.
