Musical Director - Chris van der Baaren
Chris started as an Assistant Director in 1994, and has been the primary or assistant Director of SCC since 1997. His positive energy and great ear have helped develop a strong sense of camaraderie within the chorus. He is a member of the Close Encounter quartet—2010 Division III (Alberta) Quartet Champions and 2019 Division III Senior Quartet Champions.

Assistant Director – Greg Verhappen
Greg always enjoyed singing growing up but didn’t discover barbershop until 2010. His enthusiasm and energy add a strong sense of fun to everything he does. In 2018 his quartet, Blend the Rules, were the Division III Senior Quartet Champions. His current quartet is BRASS.

Assistant Director—Doug Spensley
Doug has been singing barbershop ‘forever.’ As a baritone, there is nothing more satisfying than a chord that rings! Doug uses his great ear and love for harmony to advantage to help the chorus create its resonant sound. Doug sings baritone with BRASS and is also a member of the Close Encounter quartet—2010 Division III (Alberta) Quartet Champions and 2019 Division III Senior Quartet Champions.

Assistant Director—Doug Marwood
Doug has been singing barbershop for over 50 years! He is always happy to share this expertise with the chorus in order to help share his love for barbershop. He is the founding member of BRASS which has won numerous awards over the years, including ‘the Green Jacket’ presented to members of the Evergreen District Hall of Fame for their contribution to barbershop and their communities.
